June 30, 2003 Letter from Wei-Ping Tai Dear Ganlin (甘霖) and Fellow Classmates: Time flies fast. It has been suddenly more than 30 years since we left school. Thank you so much for creating the web site that I obtained through 易惠南 (Yih Hwei-Nan) a couple months back. It was really a pleasure learning all the stories after being apart for such a long time. I had a long phone talk with 侯展文 (Gene Hou) last Friday and we both enjoyed it very much. I have been working with ExxonMobil for 13 years. My office is in Houston but my family is still in Pennsylvania (they never moved after . the Exxon Mobil merge four years ago). Since I have a fair amount of business travel, we are quite used to this already. My wife teaches mathematics part time in a community college. However, she is quite busy being the conductor of a local Chinese chorus that she founded 10 yeas ago. We have two happy and healthy children. My son is going to be a junior majoring in computer science. We will spend the July 4th weekend in Boston celebrating his 20th birthday. My daughter is going to be a 10th grader after the summer. Last March before the SARS broke out, I had a trip to Asia and stopped by Shanghai for a couple days. Unfortunately I did not know you and some other classmates were there. Hopefully we will meet the next time I go there. Please kindly post my contact numbers on the web.
