What is the push field?
The "push field" is a the way how announcements should be sent to
each member.
Many organizations will publish monthly or quarterly newsletters.
Before using Gathery, almost the only way to distribute the newsletters
is thru regular (snail) mail. Gathery allows each member to choose the
way he wants to receive the announcements:
- he will come to the web site to see them
- by e-mail
- by phone
- by fax
- by snail mail
When you (the Manager) want to distribute announcements or newsletters,
you can list all members of each category separately
(sub-service in service: "Manager list members") and
reaching each member effectively without spending a lot of postage
and processing time.
The Manager can also maintain this push field easily by using the
service "upload/download DB to/from text file".
